MICHAELA MARRABLE

I was born and raised in Canada where I attended vocational school from the age of 11 at Canada’s National Ballet School. After graduating in 2018, I attended Northern Ballet’s Trainee program and worked closely with Northern Ballet for Nutcracker and their Children’s Ballet UK tour of Puss and Boots in 2019.

After moving back to Canada over the pandemic, I worked in dance film with Cathy Marston and developed a love for cinematography. Since its release, Switchback has been awarded Best Dance Film at the 2021 Lonely Wolf London International Film Festival. Post pandemic I moved to London to participate in English National Ballet’s trainee program. I have since performed pieces at Sadler’s Wells with choreographers Mauro de Candia and Royal Ballet’s Emerging Artist in Residence Joseph Toonga. In the end of 2021 I was involved in Didy Veldman’s new production of Carmen with Natalia Osipova and in 2022 I performed in the Barbican Theatre for choreographer Blanca Li’s Le Bal de Paris. Most recently I have been performing the Nutcracker and Swan Lake on a UK tour in theatres such as Westminster Central Hall in London and Oran Mor in Glasgow.

"I am very excited to be a part of New Creations Collective’s ballet Nightingale. From the beginning of this process I have felt encouraged to push my artistic limits and I believe Florence’s is a poignant and progressive story which will resonate with audiences across England. I am delighted to have this opportunity to bring Florence’s story to life."
