Musician Casting - Flautist

New Creations Collective are looking to cast a Flautist for the role of "Robin". Please see all details below. 

 

The Secret Garden is an original ballet production by New Creations Collective which will be touring as a promenade performance this summer.

Job description

• Role of Robin, playing flute against a pre-recorded backing track of the original score. 

• Must be comfortable with movement/acting as you will be embodying the role of Robin and interacting with dancers.

• Performance dates are for 3-4 repetitions of the work through out the day/evening. Performance is only around 25mins long and Robin is only in 2 two scenes (around 10mins) 

• This is an outdoor performance taking place in historic gardens

• The musician will be required to learn the music prior to rehearsals/performances and perform without a score in a live capacity.

• The musician must be reliable, willing to work outdoors and comfortable with taking movement direction from the company choreographer

Dates/Times/Fees

• 17th June - 3hrs at The Howard Venue, Kent and 3hrs self rehearsal time at home beforehand - Total Rehearsal fee = £100 

• 20th June (approx times 12-9pm) - Daytime rehearsal and 3 x evening performances at Penshurst Place TN11 8DG - Fee = £200 + £20 travel allowance

• 5th August (approx times 10am-5pm) Wimpole Estate, SG8 0BW Show Day  Fee = £160 + £20 travel allowance

Applicants must be available for ALL of the above dates. 

Applicants must have at least 3 years of professional vocational training in classical music to play the original score commissioned for the production.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as the company cannot sponsor overseas visas.
